Aidan is a young Bristol based artist/illustrator. Almost all of his artwork plays with confident line making and a subconscious obsession with pattern. His artworks often feature areas of intense detail surrounded by areas of sparseness. Aidan's work is fairly surreal with a fair bit of underlining symbolism. A reoccurring theme is drawn from his concern toward environmental issues.
Spending his childhood in a fairly rural town near London Aidan found himself able to experience the worlds artworks in the multitude of London's galleries whilst enjoying the surrounding countryside and wildlife surrounding his home. From a very young age he grew an interest towards things that grow and the natural world and decided he would later become a naturalist like his hero David Attenborough or become and artist. As a young adult his uncertainty led him to studying a foundation of Fine Art at Wimbledon school of Arts. He then moved to Bristol and specialised in Illustration.
Since graduating he has been featured in the Association of illustrators annual book 'images 34' and been awarded 'best emerging illustrator' of 2010/11 by Ashleigh Vinall, head of graphics Selfridges. He chooses to reside in Bristol as a freelance illustrator/artist and works in a wonderful, renowned jazz pub (The Old Duke). His future aspirations are to continue to develop as an artist and hopefully build up his reputation as one. Also he would like to one day have a studio in a tree-house.
