Anri Sala

Born in Tirana, Albania in 1974 Anri Sala is a Contemporary artist who lives and works in Paris. Sala studied painting at the Albanian Academy of Arts for four years before studying video at the Ecole Nationale des Arts Decoratifs. Video is Sala‘s preferred medium, producing work that is both beautiful and haunting. Sala has recently exhibited at the Tate Modern in London. He was awarded the young artist prize at the Venice Biennale in 2001 and has had successful solo exhibitions across Europe and the United States.
