An artist / illustrator since 1978, Ian Wright has been working across the boundaries of art and design.
Recognised for his portraits of artists such as Hip Hop artist T.I. , Angela Davis, Ian Brown and Kobe Bryant, he has been developing large-scale modular installations for clients such as Issey Miyake, Givenchy, Nike, Arjo Wiggins and The British Museum.
Using materials not immediately associated with picture making, his unconventional palette has included salt, cassette tape, buttons, beads, luggage labels, paper cups and drawing pins.
Enjoying the unpredictability they offer, his current practice is a continuation of his exploration into this utilization of easily available, and deliberately inexpensive materials.
