Jochen Gerner

Jochen Gerner

Jochen Gerner studied at the Nancy National School of Fine Arts, France, where he received his degree in 1993. Since then he has been creating illustrations for books, magazines and newspapers (Libération, Le Monde, die Zeit and The New York Times, among others). Gerner has had many solo and group exhibitions in art centers and museums, where he has been showing his personal experimental graphic works. He has published several books exploring the links between words and pictures (editions l'Association). In this way he achieved "TNT en Amérique" in 2002 (editions l'Ampoule). By twisting the famous comic strip, Hergé's "Tintin en Amérique", and from personal alchemy, he gives his own view of American society. Jochen Gerner is member of OuBaPo (Ouvroir de Bande dessinée Potentielle). He is represented by gallery Anne Barrault (Paris).
