Born on the eve of Halloween in the year of the Tiger and on the shores of New Zealand, Meighan spent her early years locating spiders, finger painting, eating bagels and peanut butter in St Kilda, Melbourne.
Her current art practice and research is invested between the stasis of the photographic and the still moving image and strands of this work have been exhibited in New Zealand, USA, Australia, Japan and the UK.
Residing for the last number years in London, Sydney and Tokyo she worked as a design/fine arts educator, freelance creative, focusing on photography, video, collaborative projects and writing for various international online and print publications.
Now back in the Antipodes and post MFA- Meighan is lecturing in photography, attempting to maintain and imitate a previous gypsy lifestyle by moonlighting as an itinerant photographer, sleeping in a tent/car, on a beach/bear- planning frequent and future escape routes off the Shaky Isles, hunting, shooting, collecting- whilst dreaming about film.
