Coming from the small town of Karvina in Czech Republic,Petra Nemcova is known for achievements in the fashion industry, philanthropy and other fields. Petra has reached the highest level in the fashion industry and appeared in advertising campaigns for brands such as Cartier, Pantene, Lancaster, Graff, Max Factor, Clarins, Rampage, Fortunoff and Ann Taylor. Petra's looks have been featured in Vogue, Vanity Fair, ELLE, Sports Illustrated, Harper's Bazaar, InStyle, Glamour, Cosmopolitan and Marie Claire to name a few. Since her introduction to modeling, Petra has worked with some of the industry's most prominent photographers, notably, Mario Testino, Patrick Demarchelier, Gilles Bensimon, and Vincent Peters.
After surviving the 2004 Asian Tsunami in Thailand, Petra established the Happy Hearts Fund in 2005. HHF became an official 501(c)(3) charitable foundation in 2006 and was initially started to aid children affected by the Asian Tsunami. HHF broadened their mission and they are now helping other countries affected by natural disasters. They are in seven countries, mainly in Asia and the Americas. Petra is the author of "Love Always, Petra," a book about her life and Tsunami survival.
