Piers Mansfield-Scaddan

British born Piers Mansfield-Scaddan graduated in Sculpture in 1996 and apprenticed under South African conceptual minimal artist Jeremy Wafer.
He then worked as a designer and maker in London undertaking projects for the likes of Ron Arad Associates.......... His early work, Digital Stag Cuckoo Clock was nominated for a Best British New Award product by Elle Deco and selected for the British Council touring exhibition by the then curator of the V&A, Sorrel Hershberg.
In 2007, East London creative agency Hidden Arts nominated his experimental installation in Corian for best exhibition on an International Furniture Fair at the Salone del Satellite in Milan. He has regularly received awards by the UK Trade and Investment to exhibit his work abroad: namely in Milan, London, Seoul, Shanghai, and Tokyo and his work is represented in prominent collections in New York and Switzerland.
Returning to South Africa 12 years later he set up a studio in Cape Town where he collaborates under the name Fly-Pitcher Design Studio with Interior designer Nicola Polmans on bespoke furniture, lighting installations, furniture and interior projects.
