Pippa Nissen founded Pippa Nissen Studio at the beginning of 2010 as a way of specializing in design projects within the arts, museum and theatre sectors. Pippa Nissen was formerly a founding partner of Nissen Adams in 2002 - an award winning architectural practice involved in a diverse portfolio of UK and international projects. In 2005 she featured as one of the UK's leading young architectural talents in the AJ Corus '40 under 40' exhibition at the V&A.
Pippa is a qualified architect and theatre set designer and has over 15 years experience in both these professions. In her practice she brings together a small design team of architects, lighting designers and specialist technicians who collaborate to merge boundaries between the respective disciplines in order to optimise the integration of design ideas. The result is the creation of highly distinctive and idiosyncratic spaces that become an exciting setting for the life played out within them. The team shares a particular passion for exhibition and theatre design, and since its inception Pippa Nissen Studio has worked with a number of significant cultural organizations including the V&A, the Imperial War Museum, The Design Museum and the British Council.
Pippa teaches architecture at Cambridge University and Kingston University, and is a frequent contributor to debates within the wider community of design and architecture.
