Sara Orme loves taking photos. She also likes a lot of different genres within photography making it hard to settle for one. This is no surprise as her background offers a wide variety. With a degree from Canterbury University in Art History and Sociology and then later completing her photographic studies at Unitec, Auckland she manages to fuse a layered combination of these many elements into her photographic work.
Sara manages to traverse between Art and commerce as a photographer and lucky for her she manages to thrive in both. Her day job finds her in the light filled studio she works out of based in Auckland, New Zealand where she produces imagery for top local and international brands in advertising. The rest of her spare time moves between concept driven fashion shoots where she can indulge in the fantasy of things beautiful, Personal Portrait projects from her large format camera which have been described as Intense and seductive, and snapping up the emotion in her subjects through her documentary work which are at their simplest, just slices of life that we can both recognize or find discomfort.
These moments are representative of life lived and experience shared.
Sara has won many awards for both her commercial as well as her personal work, has been published in numerous local and international magazines, and looks forward to her next exhibition in 2012.
