Ferda Kolatan and Erich Schoenenberger are the co-founders of su11, a distinguished architecture and design practice based in New York City. Since its inception in 1999, su11's work has been investigating new modes of design, speculative as well as practical, as afforded by technological advances and an emerging sensibility for novel forms of material expression. The scope of their work ranges from product design to commercial interiors, residential homes, building concepts, and large-scale urban strategies.

su11 projects have been exhibited at venues such as MoMA, Walker Art Center, Vitra Design Museum, Archilab Orleans, Art Basel, Beijing Biennale, Art Center College of Design, Carnegie Museum of Art, Zeche Zollverein Essen, PS1 and the ACADIA and SIGGRAPH conferences. Publications include the NY Times, LA Times, Washington Post, Sueddeutsche Zeitung, Le Monde, AD, Dwell, Monitor, Space, L'Arca, Arch+, DBZ, and Archithese. In 2001 su11 received the Swiss National Culture Award for Art and Design and the ICFF Editor's award for 'Best New Designer'.
