They say it best......"Todd DiCiurcio, GOLD runs May 7-22 at Cob Gallery in London. DiCiurcio will present a new series of large scale paintings of the likes of Kings of Leon, Adam Green, EXITMUSIC, Broken Social Scene, Guided by Voices, Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, Bob Mould, The English Beat and Guster, bringing the best of New York’s diverse music scene to Cob Gallery, Camden Town. DiCiurcio’s unique artistic process ensures he captures the spirit and energy of each of the musicians he paints. Each painting originates from a live sketch vigorously drawn as the musician performs, their unique stage presence and live energy documented as the performance unfolds, later transferred to a large-scale canvas in his studio. For this exhibition, running 7th – 21st May, DiCiurcio combines a metallic gold oil base with the printing of his original live drawings in black enamel, hand-finishing each canvas with a coating of diamond dust to create a stunning and beautiful effect on the dramatic paintings. Camden has a long established heritage at the heart of the UK’s live music scene, making it the perfect location for DiCiurcio to present his work. In a new commission especially for the exhibition, DiCiurcio will turn his hand to one of the headline acts of this year’s Camden Crawl. Local artist and filmmaker Toby Ross-Southall will document DiCiurcio’s fascinating live drawing process. An accompanying series of events will include live painting and gig performances, to be announced closer to the exhibition. DiCiurcio has also designed a limited-edition t-shirt which will be sold at the Gallery. Located on 205 Royal College Street, Camden, Cob Gallery is part of a wider artistic venue which includes state-of-the-art project and studio spaces. Founded by co-directors Polly Stenham and Victoria Williams, Cob is the latest addition to a burgeoning North London artistic scene."

In her absence

"...before I knew it,  I was in the back of my Father's El Dorado hiding an antique gun with a supermarket grade price tag reading "6.95" on it.   The 2 orange looms and old maroon train engine I had spotted in the rafters earlier seemed insignificant at the time,  but I knew that black paint was still wet,  and he hated that shit.  Hell,  I was about to be introduced to an element that would change everything......"  excerpt from "My Story: Cherry Cutlets in Swanksville"
